La Llorona - Horror Short Film Script

After facing a turbulent hiccup in her relationship, a woman’s belief that love conquers all is tested when her unfaithful boyfriend goes missing on a camping trip.

This five page short film was written with the intention of being easily producible, within Vancouver Film School’s campus, for under a thousand dollars. In fact, the entirety of the story takes place inside a tent.

The story is a modern retelling of the classic New Mexican La Llorona, though her presence is felt through much of Central and South America. The story follows Itzel and her boyfriend Isaac on a camping trip after she’s discovered his infidelity.
